London Victoria, SW1
Time on Site:
Greenwood is a buzzing pub, restaurant and sports lounge in London Victoria.
The spectacular entrance welcomes guests to a huge central bar, which is complemented by a second bar upstairs, five giant sports screens, an American 8-Ball pool table and two shuffleboard tables. In addition, a gentleman’s barbershop and Blink browbar are located on the ground floor.
Greenwood is our third project for ETM and follows directly in the footsteps of the hugely successful Botanist on Broadgate Circle.
Over the course of these projects we’ve developed an excellent working relationship with founders Ed and Tom Martin and their highly skilled team.
Greenwood was amongst the first food court venues to open within Land Securities’ £2bn Nova site. Work on Nova, which also features office and living space, continued throughout the entire length of our project, creating a challenging working environment.
Not only this, but the addition of a series of huge copper beer barrels were to be suspended above the ground floor bar. The location and sheer weight of the barrels required detailed structural planning and close liaison with the CDM Services team to ensure safe installation.
The barrels were not the only unusual design feature. The unique design of the Blink brow bar and barbers presented a time consuming challenge, especially considering their relative importance in comparison with the overall scheme. ETM also regularly feature taxidermy in their bars, which required a detailed client sign off process.
In addition, working under Land Securities’ main contractor created a host of project and cost management related challenges for our team. With tightly controlled access, strict logistical limitations and daily issues arising from the main contractor, our work took 24/7 commitment to deliver on schedule.
Our project management, cost management, CDM Services and architectural support helped transform the shell and core into a spectacular multi-purpose entertainment venue in under 21 weeks.
"This was an incredibly satisfying project. Working within the Nova complex was a huge challenge, but for Greenwood to be one of the last tenants to sign at Nova and amongst the first to open, speaks volumes for our team’s attitude, approach and work."
