The Social Company
Time on Site:
Social Wine & Tapas is located on James Street in Marylebone.
The ground floor contains a wine shop displaying fine and rare vintages from around the globe and a 30-cover tapas bar. In the basement, a further 40 diners can be seated in beautifully lit surrounds that seamlessly blend luxury, comfort and the intimate authenticity of a traditional bodega.
We are proud to have worked on a number of critically acclaimed and commercially successful projects for The Social Company. Our relationship with Jason and Irha Atherton and their team spans a range of diverse, bespoke projects including Sosharu, City Social and the New York-Italian venture Hai Cenato. As with all ventures by The Social Company, Social Wine & Tapas was a completely unique undertaking.
Transforming the shell and core into Russell Sage Studio’s stunning vision in under 10 weeks was a significant test of our team’s skill and experience. Added to this was the logistical challenge presented by both the location – just off bustling Oxford Street, and the tight, confined space which was designed to house a ground floor show kitchen and prep kitchen in the basement. Jason Atherton worked with Salix to design and manufacture these kitchens and as expected from Salix, whose kitchens feature in over 30 Michelin Starred restaurants, the design specification and installation standards were exacting.
Our ability to manage the installation of both the ground and basement floor kitchens on a logistically challenging project speaks volumes for the skill of our team.
We managed the entire procurement process, delivering project, cost and construction design management from initial design through to practical completion within our 10 week on-site timeframe.
